Dataflow in on- and off-chip networks in cc-Numa systems

We want to investigate optimizations for performance and resource utilization in large ASICs used for switching in custom networks of approximately 1000 CPU cores. The networks are used to maintain cache coherency in the system and key characteristics are low latency, high bandwidth, complicated protocols, short messages and multiple virtual channels.

The goal is to establish a theoretical framework to predict performance and resource utilization in networks and use this framework to optimize future product generations.

Required skills

Computer architecture, modelling experience, network theory, and ASIC design.

In addition to that, having strong English written and oral communication skills, and a good ability to cooperate with others and work independently on challenging problems.
